Broomhall

Aye, the Earl, or to give him his Sunday name - it is Sunday after all - Andrew Douglas Alexander Thomas Bruce, 11th Earl of Elgin, 15th Earl of Kincardine (and a direct descendent of Robert the Bruce) who is a near neighbour don't you know, allowed the Scouts to have their AGM and sports day in his front garden. Nice house, although it would be a bugger to heat. A very cheery man with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the village (at least up until the abolition of feudal superiority by the Land Tenure Reform (Scotland) Act 1974).

Anyway, having avoided any prospect of being dragged onto a committee by Mandy's continued service on the committee, I spent the afternoon wandering around watching the kids at their games and taking photos of them. They throw themselves into these things so completely that their photos are a hoot. All earnest red faces and real exertion to knock over a foam rugby ball with a foam tennis ball. Harder than you'd think.

The kids stuffed themselves with cake and ice cream to the point of near vomiting in Ewan's case so after a light tea they're off to bed and conked out at a reasonable hour. I might do the same.
