Cats and Dogs

"Mum told me it was raining cats and dogs... Is this a cat or...?"

Mini Moon's first experience of rain, and dogs.


This afternoon, it was the the Beagles' Puppy show. A quintessential, summer event of middle England, all Panama hats and lightweight suits for the men, and summer frocks and straw hats for the ladies. It poured throughout, but with a stiff upper lip and mutterings of 'stuff and nonsense' - and a few umbrellas, everyone stood out in the rain for 45 minutes to watch the judging.

We then made our way to the marquee, the tea urn, the cucumber sandwiches, and home made cakes. Speeches and presentations followed, before we made our way home.

Rain? What rain?
