All for Vicky!

We all arrived at the hen-house in dribs and drabs yesterday afternoon, and the fizz was popped open at about 5pm to mark the start of a weekend of Henanigans in celebration of Vicky's last weekend as a Miss (although strictly speaking she won't be losing that title until September). Dinner was booked across the Kent/Sussex border in Camber in a lovely restaurant, and so a nice few hours spent there eating delicious food and guzzling lovely wine.

Today though, we started with a continental-style breakfast in our big-brother style kitchen, before hopping on our mini-bus that would take us inland to High Halden for a mid-summer's fair for a few hours, mooching around the stalls and quaffing old-fashioned lemonade and scrumpy apple juice. We perched ourselves next to a little duck-pond with bunting fluttering in the breeze behind us and opened up a feast of goodies, causing huge picnic envy amongst our fellow fair-goers, especially when the fizz was opened with a loud pop and a bit of spray!

Next stop was Biddenden Vineyard for a tour around the vines before some sampling of their wines and ciders - it was a great hour or two, which, after all that sunshine and excitement of the fair and the motion of the bus, put us all into varying degrees of slumber!

A bracing walk along our garden (i.e. the beach!) woke us all up after an hour or so of chilling out back at the hen-house and I caught three of my fellow henanigan-ers in the fading light.

Fish 'n' chips at home was the order of the evening, washed down with ciders and wines and pimms and fizz and vodka and gin and more fizz, that we had ordered in for the weekend. An interactive game of "Mr & Mrs" kept us all entertained as we learned about Vicky's future husband's idea of her dream job and his failed attempt to recall what Vicky wore on the day he proposed, amongst other things! We were in tears with laughter and it was just excellent!
