Lavender

I love all my herbs but lavender is my favourite. My mum used to tell me that it made you smell like an old lady but I love the scent so much I don't care and nearly pass out huffing lavender whenever I pass a plant in someones garden. I have lavender talc and lavender soap and a little lavender wrist scenting thing.

Lavender used to be massively in demand. The Romans used it but it's first mention in England was in the 12th century. The London district of Mitchum used to be lavender fields and many London streets have Lavender in the name. Yardley, which still exists to this day started in the 18th century selling lavender water in London.
