Surface detail

It's all change round here. Unrecognisable, some parts.

Gets to the point where you see somewhere being knocked down, and you can remember it going up in the first place. Some of the places round here, I'll have worked on them myself, though I couldn't really tell you which.

Some of the details, they just disappear. To tell the truth, a lot of the details disappear.

This place, now. Used to be a ... bakery? Hardware shop? Ah, I forgot.

Pretty sure it was an old-fashioned hardware shop at some point. But exactly when, well ... that escapes me.

Like layers, it is. Layers of years, all on top of one another.
