Milestone, Spring Gardens Lane, Keighley

Looks like I need to do some more research on this milestone which lies on the junction of Spring Gardens Lane, Greenhead Lane, Barr House Lane and Hollins Lane in Keighley.

Apparently it id a 'guidestone' perhaps because it has no miles marked. The top line says Skipton and an arrow points to the right, the bottom line says Keighley and an arrow points to the left.

I believe that the medieval route from Skipton to Keighley came via Steeton and Hollins Lane, past the guidestone to Spring Gardens Lane. The stone itself is mid to late 18th century, and was on the old highway (medieval route possibly?) which was adopted by the Keighley Kendal turnpike trust in 1733. Barr House Lane was opened in 1782.

Because of the evening lighting, the camera on my HTC Desire was able to cope.
