Moss-covered wall

This is a backblip.

Today we drove down to Devon again in preparation for N's uncle's funeral tomorrow. We took ourselves off down the lane for a walk and passed by these beautiful mossy granite stone walls. They are tremendous as they withstand the weight of extremely lofty Beech trees growing right on top of them. Not quite sure where their roots go down as they are not obviously visible, they must plunge down the back into the field the other side. These trees must have been planted on the walls on purpose by someone as there are so many of them and at regular intervals but why I do not know!
