walking in the city

Colleagues

We're walking to the Basilica Antonio. On the square are café/bars with patios. We've discovered the local custom of enjoying a Spritz Aperol® or Campari® and salty snacks on a hot afternoon.

This is Paulina, Rafico, and Errol--my colleagues from the Communications Studies department at McGill. We rocked our panel this afternoon. I talked about digital storytelling, its history in populist movements of the 70s and 80s and what people are doing with it nowadays. Paulina is looking at the new public role of libraries now that these massive multimedia libraries that are being built all over. And Rafico is doing this crazy work on a wealthy philanthropist who basically settled Labrador. We'll see Errol's talk tomorrow on CBC Unplugged and the brief labour movement that emerged during that crazy CBC lock-out thing a few years ago.

So yeah. It's time for a light refreshing cocktail.
