Festas juninas

June is a special month in Brazil because of our ?festas juninas?, festivities to celebrate popular saints like St. Anthony, St. John and St. Peter. Like a lot of catholic festivities, they have pagan origins. In some areas, they are more popular than Carnival. There are dances, typical food, bonfires and people wear typical countryside clothes, like the one on my picture.
