Blood Testing

County Fair project preparations are in full swing. We began our day by taking Phoebe's (age 17) flock (6 hens and a duck) to the fairgrounds for their annual blood tests. The birds have to be caught (no easy task) and bundled to the fairgrounds. Once there each is presented -- on their backs -- for blood letting. Needless to say they will have none of this. Phoebe's older sister, Hannah (20) has exhibited for 10 years and is no longer involved. Thiswas Phoebe's first year to do this without help.

We spent the remainder of the day shopping for the clothing and costumes required of Phoebe form the county fair queen's pageant. Not much luck there.
