First day of Internship at Living Links in Edinburgh Zoo! Although unpaid really can't complain about spending the next month at the zoo for free! This week will be spent getting to know the Capuchin monkeys and learning all their names as its hard to run observations on them unless you can tell them all apart. There are two groups of monkeys and we focused on the East side group today. The girl I am working with is a Biology student so its nice to meet and work with someone new! I think we did quite well and left feeling like we could recognise about half the group. This one is one of the easier ones to recognise as he is very people friendly as, sadly he used to be in the pet trade and is used to being around humans. He spent a lot of time showing off to us as he ate his apple!
