black gold......

the fruit on the blackcurrant bush I planted two years ago looked ready yesterday...and tasted ready too....I picked 750 gr!!! not bad for a young bush!! this morning I made blackcurrant compote.....it's in the freezer......yum for winter!!

I was amazed they were ready so early... in our last garden I picked them september...maybe late august.....

I think they're so early this year because we had a very early warm spell....
