Portree from Score

Originally, many years ago, the peoples of Penifiler came from a township called Score. It was maybe a hundred or so years ago that they were allowed to move and set up home in Penifilewr which was far more accessible to the school and to Portree.

For some years after they resettled the sheep still used to be gatherd to Score where they were shawn. The fleeces were then transported to Penifiler by boat. Eventually a new fank was constructed in Penifiler.

Now the only visitors to score are grazing sheep and hill walkers such as myself and my family. Though Penifiler is more accessible I think the life at Score would now be considered idyllic.
