Rain or shine

Always present on their post - the minders of street crossing. Watch out they are very possessive of their crossings ;-)
I used to play a little game with one. Every time I run to work I would try to make least stops and run seamlessly across the street ( after carefully checking that there is no car approaching) - nevertheless she'd always make a point of stopping me with her 'lollipop' thingy. It seemed more like a vicious act rather than taking care because she would never answer to my good morning or smile back. I got fed up first and now I run through the other half of the roundabout. Always tempted to stick my tongue out!
