Jess & Molly Law

Breakfast

I have commented on the dogs' breakfast before, but here we have the process as a triptych.

1. They are fed in separate rooms. Right from the first day she was here, Molly tried to barge Jess off her bowl so that she could grab everything for herself. This despite the fact that Jess is 28 months older than her and, at that time, about 10 times the weight!

2. Molly usually finishes first. Her instinct is still to go hunting for anything Jess has left; but by now she has been warned often enough that she must not approach Jess until she has finished. The centre panel sees Molly waiting expectantly for this moment to arrive.

3. They each go to sniff the other bowl: "Did she get anything I did not?". The third panel shows Molly at Jess's place. Once upon a time, Jess would eat about half her breakfast and leave the rest for elevenses. She rapidly learned that this was not a good idea with Molly in the offing!

Honour satisfied on each side, they then usually go into the garden to sleep. What a lovely life!
