Our village library's under threat
as part of district council cuts,
bean counters wildly slashing
to help reduce the national debt.

The Regenaration and Economy Scrutiny Committee
(really, you couldn't make it up ?)
will soon determine what's to be -
volunteer labour, or shut.

That library bus is no replacement,
not the same at all;
and what about its carbon footprint?
I'm frankly quite appalled.
