it's been a while, but some things need to be marked, even with crappy photos stolen from my other workplace's website... i was heading to the station for work in glasgow and stopped for a glimpse at the armed forces day parade making its way down the canongate - mostly i got to see the caps and banners and hear the bands, tho got a good view (and hear of) the jet whine of the red arrows and rumble of the battle of britain memorial flight planes. military parades never fail to hit me - i know today is celebratory as much as remembering, but still, seeing the guys in their battle-stained fatigues milling in the crowd and the veterans marching, and one old guy in the crowd in front of me with almost a foot of medals on his blazer...

whatever you feel about the politics and the decision to go to war in dusty parts of the world, you should respect the guys (and gals) going out there and doing a job that you never want to have to do, let alone most of us are incapable of doing.

support them:
help for heroes
combat stress
royal british legion
poppyscotland
erskine
and even the planes:
battle of britain memorial flight

andremember them
