Killdeer Feeding

Charadrius vociferus - a common shorebird year round in the U.S. The Killdeer call always takes me back to when I was a youngster collecting agates along the coast of the Pacific and Puget Sound (north of Seattle). Mostly, you can hear them, but rarely see them. They are timid, very cautious birds. I've been trying to get a shot of one for sometime. It's nice having some of my "reaching" lenses back.

Enjoy!
