Sunbeams

Evening by the sea

After changing from cold wintry stormy weather, today was exceptionally hot. Decidedly too hot to do much gardening after mowing half the lawn, we had a lazy day and decided to go down to the coast in the evening for some sea air.

Burton Bradstock beach, (Hive Beach), is on the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site, on the south coast of Dorset. People were still sitting about and enjoying the evening when we arrived. We walked along the bottom of the cliffs and sat down. The view was remarkable. There in the distance is Golden Cap, the flat topped cliff. This is the highest point on the Jurassic Coast and also on the South Coast off Great Britain, measuring 191 metres. It acquired its name from the flash of Golden Greensand rock near the top. The coastline swings round surrounding Lyme Bay.

Afterwards we went to the pub in Puncknowle where N had his pre-wedding Dutch courage drink before our wedding in the church opposite nearly 27 years ago!

Arriving home I went to bed with a migraine headache, the reason for this late blip! All is well.
