Photo-a-day retirement

Black shag (cormorant) resting on the river bank

The birds have been getting another shake up lately as a big digger crane works along the river bank putting up metre high shingle stop banks. There seem to be a lot fewer birds around the river, but maybe that's just winter.

We seem to lose one thing after another as a river walk is no longer really possible, with the new bank, and the cracks and slumping nearer the river, and the footbridge is gone from September.

I hope the birds get a break soon, the water clears and a new normality lasts, with no more big quakes.
