Preparing for the Edinburgh Military Tattoo

We had our fair share of entertainment on the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade, as we watched this huge double truss being positioned as part of the newly designed spectator stand. It will seat 8,700 every night. Cost estimated at £16 million.

We had a good day in Blipland:-
- The Georgian House, No 7 Charlotte Square - had a quick peek next door at No 6, Bute House, but Alex wasnae in.
- A walk through Princes Street Gardens - eyes peeled, but didn't spot any resident Blippers.
- Finally found The Scotsman Steps, 160 new marble steps leading up to the Bridges. We asked a policeman in Waverley Station for directions to said Steps, but he had no idea what we were talking about. Glad we didn't want to know the time!
- St Giles Cathedral, and The Thistle Chapel. Impressed with the beautiful interior and stained glass. The wood carving and detail within the Chapel is splendid.
- Gladstone's Land on the Royal Mile.
- Lady Stair's Close, and several other closes along the way.
- Castle Esplanade. Thought about going in. £15 a pop. A touch pricey.
