Hunter's Quay from the sea

...or more accurately, from the car deck of a Western Ferry around 8.30am. Today, we were anxious about the possibility of longer queues of cars for the Western Ferries as it was the first day without the car ferry on the Caledonian MacBrayne Gourock-Dunoon route, but they hadn't materialised by this time in the morning.

It would now seem that the new ferry on the Dunoon route isn't ready yet, and was temporarily replaced by a vessel that promptly broke down. For all the beauty of this morning and this place, the provision for the ferry crossing continues to be a bone of contention for all who live here.
