Five Swallows' Eggs

Less than three weeks since I was photographing the swallows' first set of offspring, here's their second clutch of eggs - right by our front door. I snook this photo very quickly - one and only shot.

Two swallows have really made my summer!

PS If you look carefully at the nest, you can see the swallows have built an extension since their first brood; two more layers in height - the new-built bit is pinker than the old part.

Today, in the lovely warm garden, I also saw, for the very first time, a hummingbird hawk-moth: amazing!
