Life with bells on

Winster Wakes takes place every midsummer - a week-long festival culminating in a carnival parade in Main Street, and Morris dancing provided by the local side and visitors. Winster Morris is one of the longest-established traditional Morris sides in England. This year had a larger turnout than usual: grey beards were numerous, but there were also youngsters - including the boy pictured here, who was dancing with them for the first time.
