Quincy

This is apparently a Chaenomeles which is related to Quince. I liked the pattern on the fruit and the bruises.

Out gardening again today. Another bit of primitive tree surgery which was deeply satisfying. And then I was sent to tackle a Rhododendron. Whoever invented them must have thought that the Gordian Knot problem was a bit too simple. Man that was a lot of work and to make it a little spicier it has intertwined with a rather vindictive rose bush. We cleared about 8 square metres in about 3 hours and there's at least another couple of days work in digging up roots and runners. It was nice to be able to see what we'd cleared though.

Rewards included cake from Mechtildhausen and a very nice dinner in Schlangenbad. A super day with the majority of chat in German. I think I might be getting somewhere with this learning thing.
