Matanzas

Disliked by many.
Appreciated by some.
Loved by few.

First impressions can be lackluster to say the least.
But as I spent the afternoon with my camera and my ipod, exploring every nook and cranny of this former giant. I began to see it in a different light.
I hope that when things (inevitably?) change in Cuba, it finally gets the attention it both needs and deserves.


Matanzas is famed for its many bridges. The one above is right by the bay, and regular cargo trains trundle over it at speeds that would shame a snail..
