hornworm

Greg mentioned which kind of hornworm this was, but I don't recall right now. I'll edit the post later when he shows up again.

Yesterday marked the first day of Echinacea flowering out in the field plot! This is quite late; in 2007, this was about the time of peak flowering (the most flowering out at once). Peak will probably fall near the end of July or possibly beginning of August. Peak date for most of the previous years was around the 14th or 15th of July.
