Heckles Raised?

Early morning I saw this pigeon sitting in the porch so I rushed in to get my camera and as i approached it, it went in to some kind of an attack/defense mode with its heckles raised...and did not fly away...After a few pictures I went out to investigate, I realized its fledgling had fallen off the nest and was hiding behind the flower pots. A pair of crows was eyeing it and the parent was trying to protect it...I deprived the crows of their breakfast...
