The calm after the walk

Decided the Dot dog deserved a run on the moors today, so we headed up to Westmoorgate. Of course in the excitment of getting out of the house and into the car i forgot a camera. Dottie had a wonderful time. Whilst quietly wandering the moor her nose and tail went up and off she trotted- over the horizon. I tried the "chicken holler" (thank you Lily for that description), hiding, screaming and finally had to give in and run up the hill to find her. I had visions of her chasing a sheep I had failed to see. Almost! She had found a sheep, my first sighting of her on reaching the top was her rolling in its remains. After which she tried to have a munch on something before i captured her. Thankfully it was mainly skeletal. After dragging her away and walking what i thought was a suitable distance away i let her back off the lead. Smelly water was the next find - wet boggy ground.

On the way back she started to make a detour back up the hill - thankfully i caught her before she made her second attempt at dead sheep. We did make it back to the car without any further dottie delights (although she did eat quite a quantity of various poos at one point)

So, no photographic record of her joyous finds, just a photo of her asleep in the kitchen on her return. Dreaming no doubt of dead sheep!
