Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Textures

Textures from the beach - everything was brought in by or changed by the tides, except for the bit of green corrugated plastic that came from a woodpile cover in the woods. It's part of the fort the kids built on the beach. And "decorated" with bits of seaweed and cloth. The tides are so high now in the middle of the night that the water comes halfway into it, only turning over the piece of carpet scavenged from the beach as well. Had a wonderful time with all sorts of abstractions here, without any processing - big and small, the textures look really good in black and white, but for this one I just couldn't give up the little bits of yellow, blue and green. It'd be a good beginning inspiration for a painting....

Spent a little time helping H replace more planks on the dock. Had to hold the ramp up at high tide to replace what was underneath, and now the wind has come up and he's stuck on the dock til the tide comes back in enough to set the ramp back down, gently. (Yes, there are plenty of boats to make his escape from there, but he's reluctant to leave the ramp swinging in the wind.) I think he'll be in for dinner.....:-)
