Get Back to Me

By GetBacktoMe

Down came the rain....

I need some help with this, as my knowlege of spiders is scant, unless they are in the bath!

This type of web is known as a funnel or labyrinth and is designed to catch crawling insects.
In the centre you can see the spider, waiting patiently.

It's constructed in brambles in a south facing hedgerow, about 50 cms off the ground.

There is quite a lot of debris caught in the outer area of the web from the flowers of the overhangind sweet chestnut trees.

Taken during a heavy shower of rain.

It's Friday, once again, so have a spiffing weekend one and all.
