Bristolwood and Beyond

Robin Redbreast

Yesterday, I spent the day in obliperation...I was at the mercy of very weak cell reception and was not able to upload anything.

The campground seems to be filled with friendly, but cautious Robins and Cardinals. They come near of their own accord, but as soon as the camera appears, they seem to magically disappear!

Late this afternoon, a little Robin sang from a branch on a huge maple tree...ah, such a sweet serenade. When the bird was done singing, it flew down onto the ground where a small pile of dirt sat...suddenly, the bird began flapping its wings, raising a small dust storm and preening itself. When I tried to capture the action. I wound up with several photos that looked like a headless blob of feathers.

I waited patiently until the little bird was finally done and was able to get this shot. After all that preening and beautifying itself, one would think it wouldn't have have that one ruffled white feather on its chest!
