Helmet Philosophy

Of all the inflated psychoanalysis that could, and does, go along with motorcycling, the importance of the helmet is a big one.

Choosing a new one is important, in terms of fit, size, look and comfort. It's your head protector but once it's on it's your little world. It deprives your senses as it muffles sounds, reduces your field of view and keeps wind and rain from you. But as the most recognisable part of the bikers "costume" it means business and once it's on, you definitely change mentality. It offers pure concentration and anonymity.

I have gone for a Shoei. Why? Well, this one was half the cost of my previous Arai, and the plain white cost £100 less than the same model with go faster stripes... ahem, white's fine, thanks.
