Stay Beautiful

Our daughter has just come back from her first proper 'adolescent birthday party'.

We've made an effort to try and resist the growing up too fast thing, although she is nearly thirteen its only in the last year that shes been allowed a tv in her bedroom, none of us do the social network thing that seems to be prevalent in society (ok i do blip, but other than that, nothing..)

Also we're blessed to have no mobile phone signal where we live, therefore the txtng 2 my m8s thing doesn't happen either. We do things as a family, and we and she are happy with this...although as her parents we recognise and understand this is changing..

case in point....invitation to a girl at school's party... a full on, full day limousine,shopping,laserquest,shopping arcade thing....so bravely we let her go off on this.

All was well, she came home in the evening,had a great time, and got out bag to show us her purchases....one of which was in a LA SENZA bag.....

now,her mum and myself only know La Senza as a lingerie store, so we waited with baited breath whilst she delved into the depth of this bag, and pulled out the thinnest piece of coloured material i've ever seen.

"Whats that then? "
her mum enquires with a nonchalance that beliies her true feelings, whilst her dad sits there wide eyed and open mouthed.....

and with a happy shrug and a flourish Millie grabs the material, waves it around her head and weaves it into her hair...its a hair scrunchy thing!!!!

father exhales, adds a couple more grey hairs to his collection, and life continues........
