Love beans!

Picked the last of the broad beans from my little veg patch yesterday, cleared the ground and sowed some climbing French beans. The patch isn't very big but this year it will produce rhubarb, French beans, broad, beans, potatoes, butternut squash, courgettes, tomatoes, peppers and aubergines. It's just so satisfying to grow some veg even though I am nothing like self-sufficient; there's such a thrill in eating something that you've grown yourself - and guests like it too!
Looking forward to next weekend when son N, who lives in London, is coming home to attend a wedding. It will be a pleasure to cook him some meals and I'm saving the beans for him...

For the record: 21C and heavy rain showers - at least it watered the French bean seeds in...
