First Rose

I've been working like crazy for the past two months to try to grow roses along the side of my hill. From pounding away with the pickaxe trying to make holes through solid rock to getting bitten by small bugs all throughout my body, including places that don't often see the light of day (my bikini line? Seriously?), I'm proud to see that all of this hard work is starting to pay off!

I started with bareroot rose bushes that I ordered online. Armstrong was charging $24.99 for their roses and I was not about to spend that much on a stupid plant. I managed to get these for between $7 and $12 each---> WORTH IT!

Here's my very first bloom....FINALLY!!
