A Suffolk Eye

Is it safe?

I spent this morning walking an educational transport route to see whether it was safe.

Putting safe to one side (that's decided in a meeting later on) - it was LOVELY. A lane filled with birds: a family of spotted flycatchers darting out of an ancient oak and hanging briefly in midair if the insect was hard to gulp down, a million million swallows, swifts and martins all swooping low because of the impending rain, and a large arrogant buzzard or two hang-gliding ominously over the lot.

And the feet belong to the highways engineer who can tell you about all these birds as he spots them
