@VerbierFestival Orchestral statues in the rain

I went back to photograph these amazing metal statues on the roof near La Poste. They are best viewed when it isn't clear and today we had some rain (it is wonderful again now)

It has been another amazing day (so far - there is a concert with Ray Chen, Stephen Hough, Valeriy Sokolov and Julien Quentin + others yet to come).

We went to the violin masterclass given by Ana Chumachenko this morning - she was working with three outstanding young women and what she said to them made a difference, and made an impression on me (and I don't play the violin).

After lunch it was the turn of Lawrence Power to work with a string quartet. He spent two magical hours with the Navarra String Quartet, first working on Janacek and then on Smetana. I asked who they were at the end, and I will seek them out.

They are two Dutch girls and two English guys and they play regularly in such venues as Wigmore Hall. Don't miss them.
