Acrocat.

Like the Romans, the Church Cat fancies fledgling sparrow for lunch, leaping onto our neighbour's railing in search of snacks. Fortunately for the sparrows, he lacks an opposable thumb, and they see him coming as the car-bare cobbled street provides skant cover for the stealthily slinking neighbourhood predator, and fly en mass onto the outskirts of the bush, beeping a warning to others that Death is abroard - and purring.

Sadly however, his shaggy counterpart around the corner met a grim and sad end when foraging for avian prey: on being chased out of a garden by a screeching mass of bush, this particular cat dashed out under a parked car into the path of a delivery vehicle - but didn't survive the encounter; unhappily he wasn't killed instantly, and there was nothing I could do to help him as he breathed his last.
