The Scottish Thistle

Prickly fellow! The Scottish Thistle which is about to break into flower all over this region. If you look closely you will see evidence of the sheep who have passed by.

Today my youngest son is home from Glasgow. We went for a walk that we used to do quite often when the children were young. Today when we went down there we found that it is unused. It is all overgrown and it was virtually impossible to tell where the path once was.

However we pushed our way through the bracken and eventually came to the cliffs beside the Braes coast. We explored some and scrambled down into a ravine to cross a river. That was hard enough but the climb up on the other side was quite daunting.

It was when we wrere walking south along the tops that I spotted a group of Thistles growing in this park. Only this one was in flower.

I have today taken 66 photographs and a piece of film since my new camera is capable of shooting High Definition movie. It is not my chosen system but one that it may be worth practising anyway.

Though windy the weather today has been warm and sunny.
