Star

1. A different kind of day today, a different start.

2. Off to collect mum from her holidays. They are full of chat and happy and brown. After a while Joanne pops in with her dog, Star. I've never met star before. Heard all about her though. By that I mean she licked everybody, bounced on everything, left white hairs wherever she could and then peed with pure excitement. I hope I live up to expectations as much (maybe without the peeing.)

3. To mum's home in Ayr and straight back out to the Abbotsford for wur tea. We put the world to rights over risotto.

4. This is mum in her holiday hat and sunglasses with a glass of French wine to keep the holiday spirits up. Next door Lolo talks to her luggage as she unpacks it, the room fills with prunes and nougat and posh soap and chicken scrapings (I'm sure something is lost in translation).

5. Sitting on the same window seat but feeling very different. Mum's home.
