Charmer

We took a trip into the city (Norwich) today. Elizabeth's shoes have been feeling a little tight. We went straight to Clarks and were out in about 5 minutes with a purchase. So much easier than the last time! Plus the pair we got were half price on sale. Bargin! And they are velcro, rather than a buckle. Hurrah!

Along the way, Elizabeth was smiling at everyone and waving and saying "bye, bye". She really is a charmer.

Back home, we took a walk up to the post box. I let her out of the buggy when she asks to walk. But she goes back in when she tries to run off. She's staying with me more and more each time, so it must be having some kind of effect.

She's still putting two words together all the time, and saying words that we didn't realise she knew. For some reason, yesterday, she kept saying "sorry mummy" all day. I have no idea what she was sorry for. Maybe she's getting them in early?

On Sunday we bought a potty! Before and after bathtime Elizabeth gets to run around nappy free. Recently she has started squatting, putting her hand down and peeing. It seems to me that she knows what she's doing, so we thought we'd give the potty a go.

4 nights in a row, she has successfully peed in the potty. There have been a couple done away from it though. Today though when she did a pee on the floor, she pointed at it and said "wee wee".

She's not coming out of nappies yet. I'm not going to force it at other times, unless she starts asking for the potty. I'm all for her taking the lead and for the change to happen gradually. It's worked well with everything else so far.
