Cormorant taking off, Salford Quays

There's a cormorant that comes and goes on Salford Quays and I'd not seen it for a while so when I saw it this morning as I walked to work, I thought I'd stop and try to get a shot of it.

Luck was against me - what you see here is the cormorant as it's just turned and took off as I pressed the shutter. Not the shot I thought I'd get, but it's the one I've chosen for my blip today.

It's a bit like an attempt of mine in February to capture seagulls floating in the water, but they took off just at the last second.
