Opera In The Park

Tonight I joined Big Sis and a couple of her work chums at the BP Summer Big Screens in the Duthie Park.

Tonight it was Madame Butterfly. It was really good, although I do think she maybe went to the same Style Yourself Japanese training course as Sean Connery in You Only Live Twice.

Not only had I never seen Madame Butterfly before, I also learned a valuable lesson tonight: don't run, not even a little bit, when you have a bottle of fizz in your backpack.

When I came to open it, yip, you guessed it, the cork came flying off, launching several feet in the air, landing in an unknown location and probably taking someone out in the process. (So I apologise to that person who probably missed the rest of the opera due to either lack of consciousness, hospitalisation or worse).

The fizz shot out in a fountain to rival the Fountains of Bellagio, with a spray so far reaching it a soaked a woman approximately a mile away, as well as the folks right front, who were a little more forgiving and found the funny side, phew!

We fell about laughing! And continued to do so for much of the night, in between second guessing what was going to happen... poor Butterfly.
