Alas poor Yorick ....

My little girlfriend and I went to the Merchant City Festival in Glasgow today - lovely and sunny with lots going on around the city centre.

- The City Chambers were open with the fantastic marble interior.
- Sports events were taking place in George Square to mark the fact that it is only 3 years until the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
- We visited the Ramshorn Kirk - with the city's first graveyard. It's now a theatre but there's a big furore about the fact that it is likely to close.
- Lots of live music events with street performers
- Lovely weather with bars and cafes buzzing
- In the evening we went to a film showing at the Britannia Panoptican Music Hall - the oldest in the world. It is gradually being restored and it is the first time we had been inside.

The blip for today is one of the performers at the Ramshorn who was placing Yorick's skull in readiness for later performances of excerpts from Shakespeare's plays
