Birds in the snow

Very cold snowy day here, apparently the worst snow for 15 years. Luckily I don't have to go to work as it's the school holidays.

For the birds a tough time - I kept putting out seed for the finches, but the snow kept falling and covering it - I guess they'll find it later!

Blackbirds were having trouble getting through he snow for worms, but the waxeyes were eating the fat as fast as they could.

The snow has kept falling intermittently all day and the birds have been very busy. Once again the females seemed to rule the feeding stations, with the males sneaking in when they could. One female in particular insisted on having a feeding station to herself but the others were happy to share.
