Salt spray

Had to pop back down to Beauly for a couple of days and decide to go by train which means catching the boat from Stromness rather than the one closer to us. Takes longer to get to the ferry and the trip on the boat is longer but the bonus is you get to sail down the west side of Hoy and get a cracking view of the Old Man. Although if you want a decent photograph you really need to go out on the viewing deck as the windows tend to be covered in salt spray. I didn't, so you get a far more atmospheric view of the inside of the window.

However if you look closely you will see the Old Man to the bottom right of the cliffs. You do get a better view from further round the coast but by that point I was tucking into my macaroni cheese in the restaurant.
