Rubbish

Our onion crop is not much cop. Sorry, couldn't resist it, but it's true as the onions in this bucket are about a sixth of our total crop. Last year we grew enough onions to keep us going for about ten months of the year, but this year we'll be lucky to have enough for ten weeks. I'm pretty sure that we didn't buy as many plants earlier in the year but I think the ants are to blame as well - they've burrowed amongst all the roots (and not just of the onions) and prevented them from growing well.
