Plenty of parking

Snowmobiles parked on the slopes outside Longyearbyen in the Svalbard archipelago, the world's most northerly town at 78°15?N. For much of the year snowmobiles are the only practical form of transport. Tourists aren't supposed to walk far or hike on the island unless they have an armed guide as polar bears far outnumber humans on the island of Spitsbergen. A friend of mine who'd been there said it really felt like being on the edge of the world, but to me it almost felt like they'd terraformed Mars.
