Garden Project!

I want to grow vegetables :-) At the back of the garden is a piece of, sort of, nothing ground with weeds, grass and stuff.

I want to do things properly but don't have any knowledge. At all. So blessed with the internets, reading the thoughts of gardening nerds arguing on hotmulch.com (I made that up, don't go looking for it, goodness knows what you'll find...)

The pic shows a tarpaulin sheets pegged down to kill off what lies beneath humanely. With my head full of compost, anti-tilling, smothering, lasagne gardening and crop rotation I will think carefully about my next move. It will probably be potatoes.
